About Course

Program Overview

Healthcare software teams – hospital IT, clinical informaticists, and health-tech developers – routinely edit code and scripts that touch patient scheduling, lab alerts, and clinical decision support. A single unclear file name or an unreviewed change can put patient safety at risk. Push, Pull, Heal is a three-course program that teaches command-line comfort and version control from the ground up using real hospital scenarios, so learners build safe, auditable habits from their very first keystroke.

The program is split into three related, sequential courses. Course 1 builds comfort with the command line itself – the tool Git and GitHub run on top of. Course 2 builds solid Git fundamentals on a learner’s own machine. Course 3 moves those skills onto GitHub, where healthcare teams actually collaborate, review code, and increasingly work alongside AI coding assistants. Each course stands alone but is designed to be taken in order. Every week’s lab includes build guidelines plus a full step-by-step solution, every quiz question includes its options and a fully explained answer, and each course closes with a ‘Most Valuable Commands’ walkthrough sized for a short practical demo video.

Course 1:  Command Line Basics with Git Bash or Terminal

Course 2:  Git Essentials for Healthcare Teams

Course 3:  GitHub for Healthcare Collaboration

Program-Wide Safety Principle

Throughout all three courses, every exercise uses synthetic, fictional data. Learners are trained from day one that the command line, version-control platforms, and AI assistants all touch a regulated environment: real patient data, credentials, or identifiers must never appear in a terminal command, a file, a commit, an issue, a pull request, or a prompt sent to an AI assistant.
