About Course

Most people try AI by asking it questions. Useful, but limited. This course shows you how to move from one-off prompts to practical AI agents that can coordinate routine work, sort incoming requests, draft replies, and help manage schedules without losing control. You will learn a simple, beginner-friendly framework for understanding what agents can do, what they should not do, and how to introduce them safely into real work.

Using a fictional primary care clinic, UC Jersey Medical Centre, you will practice on synthetic messages, synthetic calendar events, and low-risk workflows that mirror real office pressure without exposing real patient information. By the end, you will know how to recognize agent-shaped tasks, write clear instructions, connect tools, review outputs responsibly, and decide when to keep an agent in manual approval mode versus when to allow more automation.

Who this course is for: Beginner professionals, managers, coordinators, and knowledge workers who want to use AI agents to reduce repetitive work safely, with no prior AI experience required.

Prerequisites: None. Basic comfort with email, calendars, and common workplace documents is helpful but not required.

What you can do after this course: After completing this course, learners can identify agent-shaped tasks, write clear prompts for an AI agent, connect simple tools safely, triage routine work, draft replies in their own voice, combine inbox and calendar context, and decide when to keep a workflow manual, semi-automatic, or automatic. They will also know how to use synthetic practice data, review permissions, and apply basic guardrails before handling real work.
