TrioEdX app for Zoom — User Guide
The TrioEdX app for Zoom lets tutors connect their own Zoom account to TrioEdX. Once connected, TrioEdX automatically creates a Zoom meeting in the tutor’s account for every lesson a student books, and keeps it updated if the lesson changes.

Prerequisites
- An approved TrioEdX tutor account. (Students do not need to connect anything.)
- A Zoom account (free or paid) that you are allowed to schedule meetings with. On a free Zoom plan, meetings are limited to 40 minutes; TrioEdX one-on-one lessons are 30 or 40 minutes.
- A current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.
Adding the app
- Sign in at trioedx.com with your tutor account.
- Click My Dashboard, then open Settings › Video Lessons.
- Click Connect Zoom. You are sent to Zoom.
- Sign in to the Zoom account you want to use for lessons.
- Review the permissions (create and manage meetings, read your basic profile) and click Allow.
- You return to your TrioEdX dashboard, which now shows Connected as your Zoom email.
You can also start from the Zoom App Marketplace: search for TrioEdX, click Add, then sign in to TrioEdX when prompted.

Using the app
Automatic meetings for booked lessons
When a student books a lesson with you (single lesson, weekly plan or lesson pack), TrioEdX creates a Zoom meeting in your Zoom account with the lesson’s date, time and length. You don’t need to do anything.
Starting a lesson (tutor)
- Go to My Dashboard › My Lessons.
- Find the lesson and click Start lesson. Zoom opens with you as the host.
Joining a lesson (student)
Students go to My Dashboard › My Bookings and click Join lesson. They can join in the Zoom app or in a web browser and do not need to connect a Zoom account to TrioEdX.
Rescheduling and cancelling
If a lesson is rescheduled on TrioEdX, the Zoom meeting’s time is updated automatically. If a lesson is cancelled, its Zoom meeting is deleted from your Zoom account.
Checking which Zoom account is connected
Your dashboard’s Settings › Video Lessons page shows the connected Zoom email. To use a different Zoom account, disconnect and connect again.
What TrioEdX can and cannot access
TrioEdX only creates, reads, updates and deletes the meetings it made for your TrioEdX lessons, and reads your Zoom name and email. It does not access your other meetings, recordings, contacts or chats. See our Privacy Policy.
Removing the app
Option 1 — From TrioEdX
- Go to My Dashboard › Settings › Video Lessons.
- Click Disconnect Zoom and confirm.
Option 2 — From Zoom
- Sign in to your Zoom account and go to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Manage › Added Apps, or search for TrioEdX.
- Select the TrioEdX app.
- Click Remove.
What happens when you remove the app
- TrioEdX stops creating Zoom meetings for new bookings, and students will not get a Zoom join link for those lessons until you reconnect.
- Meetings already created stay in your Zoom account and their links keep working, but TrioEdX can no longer update or delete them. If you cancel or move a lesson after removing the app, update or delete the Zoom meeting yourself in Zoom.
- Your TrioEdX account, profile, bookings and earnings are not affected.
How your data is handled after removal
- Your Zoom access and refresh tokens, Zoom user ID, name and email are deleted from TrioEdX immediately when you disconnect, or as soon as Zoom notifies us that you removed the app.
- The meeting ID and time stored with past bookings are kept with the booking record, as described in our Privacy Policy. To ask us to delete these too, email privacy@trioedx.com.
Troubleshooting
“Connect Zoom” returns an error or loops back
- Make sure you are signed in to TrioEdX as a tutor, then try again.
- Allow pop-ups and third-party cookies for trioedx.com and zoom.us, or try a private window.
- If your Zoom account is managed by a school or company, your Zoom admin may need to approve the TrioEdX app first.
A booked lesson has no meeting link
- Check your dashboard still shows Connected. If not, reconnect Zoom; meetings will be created for upcoming lessons.
- If it is connected and the link is still missing, contact support with the lesson date and time.
The lesson ended after 40 minutes
Free Zoom accounts limit meetings to 40 minutes. Keep lessons at 30 or 40 minutes, or upgrade your Zoom plan.
Students can’t join
Ask the student to use the Join lesson button in My Bookings rather than an old link, and to update the Zoom app or join from a browser.
Recordings
TrioEdX does not record lessons or access Zoom recordings. Any recording is controlled by your Zoom settings, and you must have consent from everyone in the lesson (and a parent or guardian for minors) before recording.
FAQ
Do students need a Zoom account?
No. Students join from the link in My Bookings.
Can I use a different Zoom account later?
Yes. Disconnect, then connect the new account. Meetings for upcoming lessons are created in the newly connected account.
Why does TrioEdX need my Zoom email?
Only to show you which Zoom account is connected.
Will I get emails from TrioEdX about the Zoom app?
Only service emails about your lessons. You can manage notification emails in your dashboard settings.
